Bhairahawa : The Nepalis living in the UK have provided monetary and food assistance to the kidney and cancer patients and poor people in Rupandehi.
Durga Rana, 22, from Sinddharthanagar Municipality-1 and Ayusha Pande from Kanchan Rural Municipality have been suffering from kidney disease while Manju Rana from Sinddharthanagar Municipality-8 has been suffering from cancer.
Each of them got the monetary assistance of Rs 25,000. A local social worker Om Kumar Shrestha said, "Siddharatha Bhairahawa Family Group set up under the leadership of Sharmila Hirachan in the UK collected the amount and extended monetary and in-kind support to the ailing and poor people."
Among Rs 400 thousands provided by the Nepalis living in the UK, the ailing ones got Rs 25,000 each while remaining amount was spent on food stuffs.
The food items as rice, beaten rice, flour, cooking oil, sugar were provided to 45 destitute people, Shrestha added. Similarly, the sick people admitted at Universal College of Medical Science and their attendants were also provided meal for a day, according to social worker Shrestha. RSS
